Entertainment

Jade, on April 1, 2021 at 7:09 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3

I have seen a bunch of ideas for entertainment for weddings but I never know where they would be in the wedding timeline. I'm hoping to do a performance with a woman who's known me since I was 4. I don't know if it should be around the cocktail hour or in the reception. It would be a 2-3minute belly dance performance.

That’s pretty cool! We initially looked into Lyra performer and we planned on having her during cocktail hour, but with the whole Covid thing, it’s sort of puts a major time crunch and questions logistics wise and it would just complicate things further.

But if I was having a wedding in normal times we would’ve definitely done something like this and it would’ve definitely been during cocktail hour!
    Good luck!

Hi Jade! If you and your fiancé are planning on doing photos during cocktail hour, you could do the performance during the reception. We did significant dances after cutting the cake so guests had things to watch as they ate cake ❤️

Unless you do all your photos pre-Ceremony, you won't have time during cocktail hour.

We are actors, and we had a swordfight skit to open our reception. The BP was introduced, we were introduced, we faked that we were about to have our first dance, and then my bridesman got possessed by Voldemort and we had to have a whole swordfight with 6 other friends...

Basically, a performance is a great way to kick off the fun of a reception.
