Entertainment for a 20 people wedding - what should I do?

Haydee, on November 30, 2016 at 10:52 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

Help! Ideas needed...Our wedding will be a small one, we will have beach front ceremony and cocktail and then reception/dinner indoors... since I know dancing is not going to be a big thing, I wonder what can we do to entertain our guests... Mariachis? Magician? Kareoke? Our guest are mainly friends...

We are doing what @Leah said. We have about 20-30 people coming. Adults are capable of making their own fun and entertaining themselves

I don't know what pricing would be like, but you could hire a caricature artist. Heck, everyone could get their own done with 20 guests - that would be a super fun favor.

    Nothing.

Good food- good booze- and lots of it.

Put some back ground music on (I built a playlist around theatrical sound tracks and theme songs- it made for fun conversation guessing or being surprised by music).

I had 30 guests- and we just had a wedding- cocktail and dinner. I did have a belly dancer- and that was it- we were done- but we could have done without her and just finished after cake. It was just like a family dinner.

Do you have massive entertainment at family dinners at restaurants? no not usually.

    Don't over think it!

This isn't going to be a long full fledged party scene.

People will eat, have a few drinks, talk and leave. Games, etc are not necessary.

I'd do some sort of low key music; jazz piano, acoustic/brazilian guitar, maybe a marimba band for an hour (I know, that's not low key, lol) I've seen all of these at our more intimate weddings, and they all work.

I've actually seen magicians too (more one on one than a 'show') and they go over really well. So do characaturists (sp.,.) but alcohol, shmoozing and visiting should be enough.

If it's mostly friends, why wouldn't there be dancing? Booze, food and some music. The fun will come naturally. I'm only having 12 guests and the only reason we're not going to be dancing is there's no room for it!

We are having 25 people and a DJ. FH said that if people weren't up to dancing, we'd have someone handling the background music and we'd all just chill. But I suspect that there will be a lot of dancing.
