Entertaining guest

Lori, on September 18, 2019 at 10:06 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 2 16
We are trying to think of something fun for our guest to do that is not the typical cliche photo booth. What are some ideas you’ve seen or are doing for wedding guest?

    We will be doing a selfie scavenger hunt through our venue because it has a self tour that guests can take.

    As said above, Corn Hole (Bags) Giant Jenga, and Yard Connect 4 are great ideas! There are many ideas you can do depending on your wedding type or day. Some options are:

    * Horse Shoes.

    * Yard Tic Tac Toe

    * Scavenger Hunt.

    * Trivia (about the Couple).

    * Beer Pong (or other drinking games).

    * Karaoke.

    I booked my FH Reggae idol for 30 minutes so it's like a mini concert. Its probably not what you are going for but I'm excited about it. You could have roaming entertainment like a street style magician or trivia at the tables. Maybe a contest asking questions about the bride/groom and giving a way a cool prize. I dont know. I'm not good at the creative stuff unfortunately.

    I’m thinking of possibly hiring a caricature artist instead of a photo booth. Also considering lawn games. I’m also having a brunch wedding so I’m planning on having custom newspapers at the tables with crossword puzzles and word searches.

    We're doing a photo booth, but we're also planning to have cornhole, yardzee, and giant jenga for people to play during the cocktail hour.

    Our photo booth was actually super popular! We got about 100 photos at the end of the night in digital form so a ton of our guests used it. We also had yard games out (cornhole, giant jenga, etc.) and a guest book and cards that said "advice for the newlyweds". We also hired a beer donkey, he walked around with saddlebags full of beer for guests but also stood for pictures!

    We’re doing a photobooth because we do that with our friends all the time anyway but we really tried to think of cool ideas. I think magicians are always fun, same with board games. Our music is definitely going to be fun, it’s a live band from a renaissance festval. We’re hoping that’ll be enough to make it fun but we’re also doing a karaoke afterparty immediately after cutting the cake.

    We did a photo booth which people loved, but we also did a trivia game about us. Not as many people participated in that as the photobooth. I understand they are cliche but everyone really does love them.

    We're doing a makeup-mirror sized photo booth with no backdrop (just the draping of the venue walls for a bit of texture) so that it doesn't look so "prom-like," as well as getting a live-event painter that people can watch paint throughout the reception. We've also reached out to vendors about casino games like blackjack (finance's family all love card games) and short boat rides up the river that the venue sits on.

    If you have a good dj and good food your guests don't need anything extra to be entertained. They will be mingling and enjoying the night just as you will be. I don't love the frills of the extra stuff like photo booths and what not. The best weddings I've been to were the ones where guests were on the dance floor all night because the couple invested in a good dj.

    We had corn hole during cocktail hour outside, otherwise we didn't use anything extra to entertain people.

    I believe we are doing the photobooth regardless because its super fun, but we are doing small activities at cocktail tables. Like jars with future advise, bucket list, our next adventure destination, etc. and i think the giant jenga but don't quote me on it.
