Entertain guests while pictures are being taken?

We're having pics done post ceremony during cocktail hour. During cocktail hour, our DJ is passing around a white football for guests to sign as a surprise gift for FH.

Do you not have a cocktail hour?

We're also taking ours during the cocktail hours.

That is what cocktail hour is for. if you have a good DOC or event manager they will make sure to bring you and the wedding party food and drinks while you are taking pictures.

We're having a cocktail hour- I was wondering more about things like you said about your DJ passing around the football (what a cute idea!). My parents split up (not nicely) when I was young, and both have remarried, but neither side (or the extended families) like each other much to this day, and none of *those* sides know anyone on the in-law side, and I just foresee a lot of small clumping and avoidance. I've seen pins about reception games- anyone doing something like that?

Cocktail hour is literally so your guests can drink and eat small snacks while you take pictures. There's no awkward standing around just waiting.

Cocktail hour for the win! This makes me feel better- most of the weddings I've been to either a) were in separate locations and that wasn't an issue, or b) I was in, and therefore in the picture part, so I guess I thought I needed to provide something more.

Feeling kind of stupid now ha ha!
