My fiancé is dead set on having a whole pig at our reception. He’s told all of his buddies and they’re so excited about it. I know we will need another meat option because that is definitely not for everyone. So far our menu choices are as follows:
salad
rolls
chef station with pig
chicken
mashed potato bar
mac and cheese bar
green beans
Are all of these too “heavy”? I know we have at least one vegetarian who will be there. I’m planning on making any changes that are needed based off of dietary restrictions I get back on RSVP’s. My mom has food allergies so I completely understand and want to make everyone feel welcome and also not go home hungry.
There will be a cocktail hour before with cheese, fruit, and meat trays along. They will all be on their own trays so there is no cross contamination.
Dessert options are:
Chocolate chip cookies
sugar cookies (local baker that everyone goes gaga over)
Brownies
possibly mini pies - we haven’t set this in stone seeing as though we are still a year out.
If you’re reading any of these meal or dessert options and thinking - ew - or - it would be great if this was offered, etc. Let me know! I’m open to options. We’ve not attended very many weddings recently and are definitely not pros. Thanks!
