Engagement Shoot - Include my 13yr old or not?

Why not take some with her and some without her and then choose which way you like it better after you see your prints? I bet she would like to be included in such a special moment. If you end up choosing pics that don't have her, at least you have some cute prints with all of you together.

I'd include her in some of them. That way you get engagement and family photos. For the same price.

I would include her in the shoot, but take the majority without her. It is your engagement shoot. That is generally meant to be romantic photos that show the love and connection between the bride and groom. You use them in your STDs and invitations.

Get some shots with her to hang as family portraits on the wall. That would be very special for her.

I have 12 and 9 year old sons from a previous relationship and a 12 month old with FH and we did engagement pics without the kids. Usually we take pics of us with the kids whenever we are out and about but we never have pics of just us together. At the wedding we will get some family pictures taken.

I’ve been debating this myself, but our children are 4&5 so a lot younger. I agree with PPs to do some with her if you want, but focus on doing most of them just you two. Since my FH and I have barely any pictures of the two of us together I’m leaning towards leaving the kids out this time- we’ll also be hiking and they won’t be able to go as far,

Unpopular opinion here, but I wouldn’t include her. Family photos are great, but these are engagement photos and serve an entirely different purpose.

I probably would take most of the pictures with just you and FH, and then include your 13 yr old in some of the pictures towards the end.

I think you can do whatever you want, there are no rules to your vision. We tend to get hung up on what others have done. They aren't you, write your own rules.

You could ask her if she wants to be in them aha she's old enough to make that choice too. But I'd think it would be cute if you had some with her
