Engagement ring

My girlfriend has rheumatoid arthritis. It affects her fingers and some days her fingers are swollen and can’t put on rings. How am I supposed to find a ring that fits?

I would get a ring in the size that is the biggest that she could possibly need (for when her fingers are swollen, and then buy something like this (I bought them for mine since some days it's loose on me) so she can wear her ring no matter what Smiley smile The link below is what I bought and there's two different widths included and you can use as much or as little of it as you need.

Purchase a larger ring for when her fingers are swollen. She can add a ring guard to the underside of the ring to make it fit when ring is too big.

I don’t have RA, but do have one of these size adjusters. It’s great! I don’t even notice it’s there. It keeps my ring from spinning and adjusts size slightly.

I have RA actually and I can understand the struggle of swollen fingers! Definitely find a size adjuster! It really isn't too bothersome to wear.

I can confirm! You can also have a more permanent sizer put in. Since my ring is too big due to weight loss, I tried both the plastic ones and the rubber coils. My preference is the rubber because i take my ring off to wash my hands frequently and the plastic got lost a lot.

So they make special rings for people with arthritis! “Adjustable shanks,” they’re called. You should ask your jeweler about them when you go to buy the ring, you could definitely get one made like that.

It’s more expensive but, you want to get her something she’ll actually be able to wear!

I know this struggle too well. My fingers don't swell as bad as they used to. My fingers used slim down, once i got up and got ready for work. My original size is size 5 but with my finger would swelling up in the morning and turn into a 7. I didn't want my ring to fall during work, so i got did a middle size of 5.25. Does her swelling go down or it continues during the day? Maybe get her ring size when the swelling goes down. That's what i would suggest.
