Hello all!!
I am reaching out for some opinions/thoughts on the setting of my engagement ring. I helped my fiancé pick out the ring, but when I looked at the ring originally the prongs were in the same u shape they are now, but I assumed the prongs would be tightened to be fit snug to the sides of the diamond. For a while I thought it was an error on the jewelers part, but I later assumed that it is simply the style of the setting. I have never seen a style setting like this one, so for a while I was unhappy with it because it looks so much different than the standard settings shaped more in a V. I do like the space because it makes it really easy to clean the sides and under the diamond! I’m mostly curious of other peoples thoughts on it. Maybe it’s meant to hold a bigger diamond? Not sure if I’d go to change it, we got married in 2020 and it’s soldered together with my wedding band. There are days I love it, but often I feel self conscious about the ring. I know it doesn’t matter what other people think, but is this an odd way to set a diamond? Does anyone have something similar? Would mostly appreciate some assurance that this style does look normal and I’m just overthinking? Thank you!!
