Hey ladies, Is it just me or do any of you feel uncomfortable sending/texting pictures of your engagement/wedding rings to friends or family? Hey ladies,

Is it just me or do any of you feel uncomfortable sending/texting pictures of your engagement/wedding rings to friends or family?

Now that I'm engaged, everyone is asking for a picture, which annoys me and makes me feel uncomfortable. If I send that person a picture, idk who else they are forwarding my picture to and who that person may be sending the picture to. Before you know it, strangers know personal details about your ring.

I have been politely responding by saying that I would rather show you in person, I'm not wearing it at the moment, or pictures don't do my ring justice. People are still insisting on a picture. And for those who do see it in person, they immediately ask the costs or number of carats. I personally think that is rude and no ones business. I never did this to any of my friends or family when they got engaged.

Just curious on your thoughts and experiences!

Thank you all for responding! I love my ring of course but I am a very private person. I also find it strange that people continue to ask to see pictures when I've told them I'd rather show them in person. I am one that believes once you send a picture of anything, it is no longer private. Although I may send a picture to a friend, she may send it to ten other people that I don't know and so forth. I may be a bit paranoid/sensitive because my bff posted my engagement on Instagram without my knowledge before I had a chance to tell most of my family that I planned on seeing the next day at a family reunion.

I love showing mine off and seeing others, so I don't understand how it's uncomfortable.

This is super paranoid. I highly doubt anyone cares enough about your ring to show it to other people.

I have no issue showing my ring here, because ring threads feel like a "safe zone" for lack of a better word. But I agree, showing my ring (in pictures or in person) feels weird generally. I'd be shocked if someone asked about carats or cost though! That's so rude.
