Engagement Ring Disaster

My fiancè proposed to me on March 18th with an AMAZING ring! As i wore it i noticed there was a slight space inbetween 1 of the halo diamonds & the prong, i brought it back to the guy to get it fixed & i got it back & my diamond was dark! I went back & he told me they lowered the whole diamond! i was furious so i told him to send it back & fix it ! I finally got the ring back & it looked perfect except i noticed sottering underneath. i was going to bring it back & 2 days later a diamond fell out! So i brought it back & he goes and puts a new diamond in it, i get it back & he says we cant fix where it was sottered So i say you're going to give me a new setting then so he sends it out AGAIN & i get my ring back to notice it looked strange.. i brought it to a different jewler, turns out he switched 2 of my small diamonds for smaller & darker diamonds. Now i'm getting it fixed by the new jewler, but i am so bummed that i barely have gotten to enjoy my ring. Anyone else have a similar issue

Was this a local jeweler or a chain store?

That is awful. I've had nothing but great service from my local jeweler, but in the year we've been engaged I haven't had any problems with my ring.

Local jewler! we live near NYC so he kept bringing it to the diamond district & was finding the cheapest people to fix my ring ! I'm literally so upset i haven't been able to enjoy my ring... i have had it all of about 2 weeks other than that its been getting "fixed" people that see me get so excited & say "let me see your ring" and i have to say oh i dont have it.. i get so embarrassed !

You can totally see the darker diamonds right next to the bottom right prong ! he was trying to tell me "they are the same" it doesn't take a brain surgeon to see somethings off!

Yes sorry ! lol and no i only have GIA for the main diamond, unfortunatley they didn't give me any info on the smaller stones !

I had to get mine reset twice because of issues with the prongs so I totally get being bummed about not getting to have it right away

Thanks ! super upsetting that my fiancè has to pay $185 just to fix this guys mistakes ! he went back to the old jewler today & told him we know what he did and he should be paying to fix this but he says the diamonds are the same !

Also i only have 3 prongs holding my diamond which makes me SUPER nervous it's going to fall out! does anyone know if its possible to simply add 2 extra prongs to a setting that is already made ?

When this all gets settled...please write a review for the jeweler at the very least. Sounds like they are totally trying to scam you
