I just got married this past Saturday. Woo, it was beyond my expectations. Now I'm wearing my engagement ring on my right hand instead of my left (same finger). Does anyone else do that? Is it common? I don't see why I would need to keep it on the left since my wedding band is there.. I like the...

I like the look of how spread out the diamonds are instead of on top of each other on one finger.... thoughts?

I have two friends who do this, one because her bands are different metals and one because her ering is an unusual shape and she didn't want to get a custom band to fit with it. If this is how you want to wear your rings, go for it

Most people I know where both with the band closest to their hand then the engagement ring on top. I do know a few folks who quit wearing the engagement ring most of the time and just wore the band. I've never heard of wearing one on each hand, but I would also make your FH/H aware of the plan. He may have dreamed/desired to see them together on your hand. And while you could still decide to do otherwise, I think you should probably include/consider his opinion.

I think you can wear the rings however you want to. I wear a ring on my right hand my dad gave me years ago. Excited to wear the wedding band with my e-ring on the left! 72 days!

One of my bridesmaids does this! Her and her husband got matching wedding bands with wood grain and then her ering is on her right hand. It's cute and makes them happy so why not!

Do what makes you happy. I prefer mine together so have my finger blinged out.

I can't even fit it on my right hand! Haha

I think I'm more likely to stop wearing the e-ring all together eventually.

That's a cool idea- I never heard of it! In the spirit of "you do you," I will actually not get a "wedding band" at all! My e-ring is already band-like and I love the way it looks all by itself.

I plan on wearing my e-ring and wedding band together. Hoping to have them joined so I don't have to worry about them getting separated and lost.

I don't think I've ever seen it done, but it's your hands, you wear them like you like them.

I had a promise ring previously to the engagement and I wear my promise ring on my right hand now. And some other women wear like 10 and 20 year anniversary rings on other fingers.

Well. I had to get an enhancer due to the weird shape. Sooo mine have to stay together. I never heard of them being separated. You learn something new every day!

This is a really cool old tradition. Women would wear the engagement ring more as a really nice piece of jewelry when it was a fancy occasion on their right hand, or if they were higher up in society they'd wear it everyday on their right hand. But the left hand was just for the wedding band.
