Engagement Picture Advice

Natalia, on June 15, 2020 at 7:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
My fiancé and I are having our engagement pictures taken on Friday and we are so excited!

I really need my hair to be trimmed, so I am planning on going to my salon the morning of so it can be trimmed and styled for the pictures. I am also planning on getting my nails done beforehand.
Does anyone have advice to get ready beforehand for pictures, or things you wish you would have known before your engagement pictures were taken?
Also, did you tip your photographer or give them a gift? Thanks! I appreciate any advice I can get ☺️

Definitely think of some poses you'd want or if you have any props like signs you'd want to have in the photos

Exciting!! We just had our engagement pictures taken this past weekend. Afterwards, I felt like I had stressed out way too much beforehand in trying to figure out what to wear. We had a couple outfits picked out, but in the end, we had so much fun with taking the pictures, I honestly didn't care what I was wearing. My best advice is to not stress too much in getting ready, make sure you're comfortable and feel confident in what you're wearing, and then go have fun with the pictures!

I really love this advice. Thanks so much!
I get really shy in front of a camera, so that’s probably why I’m overthinking a little.
But I know that no matter what we end up wearing, these pictures will be treasured! ❤️

Go on Pinterest and look at poses! See what you two are comfortable doing. You don’t want the photographer to ask you to do some crazy kiss or something or pose that makes your uncomfortable. If you find poses you like and show them ahead of time makes it so much easier. I’m very self conscious so picking poses I would be comfortable with and not be nervous about or hate later was really nice!

Also make sure you two are both wearing dark colors or light colors if you want to use the photos for engagement announcements or save the dates. He wore black and I wore a light gray and white and black fonts would only show up on one of us and it was such a pain to make our STD that’s we liked!

I totally understand being shy in front of a camera! I'm typically the one taking the pictures as opposed to being in the picture, so I stressed out quite a bit more than I needed to over my outfit. I think you're right, that's probably why it's easier to overthink. Your pictures will turn out great!! Have a fun time!!
