Umm I believe we're gonna do ours in September. I sweat so easily and NY summers are too hot lol it'll be 8 months out from our wedding.

I planned mine after the holidays, because we had a christmas shoot planned. We took the engagement photos 5 months after being engaged. It fell on the weekend of Valentine so it was worth the wait.

We scheduled it as soon as we booked our photographer, as it was part of our package. But we actually did the shoot about a year out from the wedding. I'm a planner, so doing things early is important to me. Also, I wanted to shoot the photos during the same season we're getting married in. That's how the date got picked. Now it's almost a year later, and we're about to have our big day!

Our first session was a year before the wedding, the second was 11 months before the wedding, and our third will be 3 ish months before the wedding.

We have a summer wedding so we took the pictures in June. So 4 months after got engaged. I suggest to take engagement pictures in the season of your wedding.
