Engagement Photos

Taylor, on May 8, 2020 at 1:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Hey everyone,

I am still trying to decide whether or not to text my photographer to schedule engagement photos or not... we were supposed to get them done some time this month, and I have been waiting to schedule them due to the state of the world.
Anyone else getting engagement photos during COVID?? Should I go ahead and try to schedule mine or will that seem insensitive to my photographer??

I would get in contact and at least ask about their current schedule and go from there. They are either going to say, "I'm not taking clients yet, I plan on taking clients in/around/when... or let's schedule a date and go from there."

My photographer scheduled a date with me in late June (our wedding date is in March 2021) and we'll play it by ear.

Our plan is to take photos in the Soho neighborhood of Manhattan - so it'll be interesting. I'm not 100% confident it'll happen but will stay positive and stay hopeful until I'm told no!

I'd just ask your photographer what they feel comfortable with right now!

If you have a location in mind where you won't run in to any other people, I think you could totally do an engagement shoot without violating social distancing!

If theyre willing why not. they probably need the income and theyll probably wear a mask and be 6 feet away anyway

Hi There - We were supposed to be getting ours done in early April right when everything was beginning to shut down, and got rained out. A one hour engagement shoot is part of our photography cost, so we are definitely going to reschedule. We moved our wedding from 5/24 to 7/27 and I'm going to discuss options with my fiancee and maybe target Friday, 5/22. We are in Houston and our location is a downtown park. We shouldn't be encountering anyone directly and will wear masks until we begin photos. Depending on where you live, I say book it! Great luck.

We just met with our photographers on Friday and they said to text them when we would like our photos shot even if it’s like next week. Photographers are able to keep a pretty good distance so I would ask their thoughts and how comfortable they would be. Especially if you’re planning to use these on the invitations or save the dates, it’ll take some time for them to process and edit
