Engagement Photos?

I bought a new dress and a new top for myself and my daughter got a new dress. FH is getting two new shirts but will be wearing jeans he already owns. I'll be doing my own hair and make up.

Yes! You deserve to feel so pretty and pampered for your pics!! And I’m sure he wouldn’t mind a new shirt or two.

I had a facial, hair styled, nails done and makeup done. New clothes were needed because I didn’t want us in old faded jeans and shirts that have been washed a million times!

Call me crazy but I’ve seen photos where you can tell they’re in old faded blue jeans and shirts with fuzz from the dryer. Also be careful if you’re wanting to match colored shirts (like black) and you’re wearing an older shirt he has a new one and the tones don’t match. It looks off and the sun and camera picks up on it.

I'll be doing my own hair and nails. Not sure about makeup yet as I can barely apply lipstick on myself so we'll see how that goes. We aren't buying new clothes because 1. I hate shopping 2. FH has so many clothes, if he gets another shirt I'll probably have to move out to make room Ultimately, we want to look good but still want to look like outselves. No need to get all dressed up and dolled up to look like somebody I'm not

I looked at Pinterest to get ideas for the setting and our outfits. Since we were having a Christmas wedding I wanted pics in the snow with lots of trees and I wanted my outfit to add a pop of color. I wanted a big loose braid that would still look good even if wet from snow. I hired my HMUA to do my hair and makeup. I bought an ivory dress and red sweater to wear.

I bought new outfits, got my nails done the day of, did my own hair, but went to Sephora for makeup - if you spend $50, you can get your makeup fully done, so worth it!!

I bought two new dresses not knowing which I would wear for pictures and which I would wear for a future wedding event. I bought new heels, which I'd been needing and the pictures were just what made me finally buy them. I got my hair and makeup done at Ulta.

We haven’t done ours yet but I plan to go light on makeup and wear my hair naturally. While I love my hair the way it is, it’s hard to style unless I straighten or blow it out, so most pictures from formal occasions aren’t with my curls. FH is such a casual person I want him to look like himself too. Since we have the wedding to have dressed up photos, but two family member’s weddings close by where we’ll have nice pics from, I’m using this as an opportunity to look like our every day selves.

I didn’t even know engagement photos were really a thing people did until my friend offered to take them for us since she just started her photography business lol we’re honestly so new to the idea of weddings, we’re learning everything as we plan.

Before that, we email our photographer for advice, new outfit, hair and make up, all these are necessary. He aslo said add some stand out jewelry,but without upstaging the ring.

I rented a dress from Rent the Runway. I did plan on a second outfit with a plaid shirt I’d bought and jeans. I ended up wearing the shirt over my dress because it was chilly and it actually looked pretty cute.

I wore an outfit and shoes I already had and was comfortable in. I did get my makeup professionally done. I also wore my hair in my normal style which I am comfortable and confident with.

Did my own hair and makeup, wore an outfit I already owned, used my own professional camera, had our roommate take the pictures, and I edited them myself with a free trial of photoshop. $0 engagement photos lol.

I did my own makeup and hair and had a new dress in my closet from a friend. I don't normally wear much makeup, and I wanted the photos to look natural. We are getting married in a park, so it all worked

I bought a dress on amazon, blow dried my hair and professional make up & photographer! We also drank during our photo shoot we had fun lol.
