Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I need some advice from you all. I'm getting married on June 9th and I'm yet to book a photographer. I've booked all vendors but this one. It is my Achilles heel. I'm having the biggest issue making a decision. That being said, is it worth having an engagement session at this point? I already sent out save the dates and plan on sending thank you cards with a wedding photo.

I know most photographers want you to have them so you can have at least one session photographing together, but what do you think? I was going to make a guest book from the photos but honestly I'm not sure it is worth it at this point.

Girl I would get on this ASAP. Photographers, or ones of quality, book up way in advance. Do you have communication with any that are right now open? If I were you I'd stop with the Achilles heel thing and really nail one down. I'd hate for you to have to hire one you don't absolutely love because they were the only one available.

Also, you can do engagement pics whenever you want. They 'recommended' timeline is 8 months out from the wedding. We had to push ours back because we have to fly to CO for them, and they will be done mid April with our wedding in early September. Do them if its included because why say no to a set of photos that will last a lifetime? We had some random iPhone pic for our STDs.

YES yes and yes. I echo this x10,000. Book NOW. Don't wait, please. I missed that its a prime wedding month. You have got to get the photographer in place asap, I say this out of LOVE and for you and your future generations looking at your pics, you don't want some novice doing this. It's exhausting, it's like 8 hours running around taking photos, you want good light, good angles, et cetera. Do it NOW!

I definitely recommend taking engagement pictures. It helped me get so much more comfortable with my photographer and how to pose! I think I will feel a lot less awkward on our wedding day now.

If your photographer offers it in the package than do it. Its never too late. I'm getting married in April of this year and I'm doing my engagement photo session next weekend! I know cutting it close lol. Its never too late though.

You don't need them. Just meet up in person with the photographer before hand to meet them and discuss the day.

So I found my photographer early because I wanted to do engagement photos, who I found had engagement photos included in the big day. And I also researched her and she had really beautiful photos! Doing the engagement shoot really let my fiancé and myself get comfortable with her which is nice and it also won’t be awkward on the big day. So if you want to do it, it will break the ice and also help see how get comfortable with them! But always make sure you research!
