Our photo session is Thursday and we’re both super nervous! We’re both not very photogenic and incredibly awkward plus the weather is looking a bit unpredictable now and our location is outdoors!! We haven’t even managed to put together a complete look due to the weather being 90 one day and then 60 and rainy the next! I’m keeping an eye on it but we’ve had this appointment for a week and we keep having to change. I’m the kind of person who liked to plan out every little detail over and over again so I’m really wigging. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated 😫

Any good photographer will tell you the best pictures are taken when the skies are cloudy. When it’s overcast, it’s still light but there’s no direct sunlight which can be harsh and make you squinty. Even a little rain would be beautiful, imagine having pictures under a bright umbrella. How fun would that be! You can’t predict the weather, so I would plan an outfit for rain and one for sun. I’m sure your pictures will be beautiful either way.

I would say just try to have fun! My fiancé and I will be having a glass or 2 of wine before to loosen up and just have a fun time! It will be nice to get to know your photographer and get comfortable with them as well

Hey there Samantha
It's totally normal for you and your FS to be nervous about the engagement shoot. Many of us aren't used to be shot by a professional with a camera
You are definitely not the first nervous couple your photographer will have dealt with and he/she will have experience in helping you feel comfortable If it would make you more comfortable, tell your photographer on the day that you're both nervous and feeling a little awkward. He/she can address your concerns there and then!
Try to have fun and enjoy the experience!
Will you be using the same photographer for your wedding day?
