Engagement Photos Return

We had our engagement photos taken at the end of November, before we booked them we were told to expect them back in 1-3 weeks. At the time of the photos we were told 3-4 weeks and it was posted online that we should expect them back Dec. 27th. When we didn’t receive them back by the 27th I reached out to our photographer and they said they should be complete and returned by the next day. That came and went and they photographed another wedding, which they posted previews of the next day and we still haven’t gotten our photos back. I am currently waiting on them to order and send out save the dates as many people are asking where they are. I am getting really frustrated that I am seeing pictures from weddings that just happened, but still haven’t seen a single one of ours. When would be a good time to reach out again and how would be best to approach this without showing my frustration?

I would reach out tomorrow and say “Per our previous conversations, I was expecting to receive my engagement pictures back by December 28th at the latest. As it is now January 2nd, I am reaching out to request that they be delivered no later than 1/7/22. If they are not, we will be seeking legal advice.” Assuming you paid them for the first engagement photos, but do you have a contract and is this supposed to be the same photographer for your wedding?
