Engagement Photos Manicure

Erin, on October 17, 2021 at 10:01 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 5
So my fiancé and I finally scheduled engagement photos! We’re thinking of probably doing some photos in more casual wear (blouse and jeans for me) and some in something more formal (a dress). I was originally planning on a white manicure, but now I’m afraid that may be too loud. I also have eczema on my hands, and am afraid it will be flaring up when we do the photo shoot, and I don’t want to call attention to that. Is white too much, or should I go with a more neutral color?

I'd probably go with a neutral pink if you're worried about bringing attention in photos - something like a soft taupe, dusty pink, peachy nude etc, or raise it with your photographer - they should be able to edit the photos to hide the worst of you eczema, if you're conscious of it.

I went with a pink that was borderline nude and it photographed perfectly. My friend did white and it was a bit much, and she's the first to admit it. White looks perfect in person, but something about photographing it doesn't always work.

That’s kind of what I was thinking. I think it’s super pretty in person, but I don’t want it to dominate the photos 😅

French manicure, light pinks, or nudes.

If you want something that won’t draw attention to it or is more understated, I would go with a softer, more neutral color. Plus, a more understated nail color won’t compete with your engagement ring for the attention. Also, if you are having an eczema flareup, mention it to your photographer. They should be able to remove the redness during the editing process.
