Engagement photos in the rain? Help!

Shayla, on June 8, 2017 at 12:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

So tomorrow's our engagement photos that we've been looking forward to for months! Supposed to rain (typical WA), but there's a few hours here and there that are dry. With FH and photographer's work schedule, we wouldn't be able to do another weekend shoot until late August! Which still could rain then too! Should we go for it?

Part of me thinks rain photos would come out great! But also don't want to looked too soaked.

What do you think of at-home engagement? So confused on what to do!

Thanks in advance Smiley smile

Engagement photos actually look best in the rain. I'd get one of those fancy tall umbrellas with clear sides!

Having lived in Vancouver, BC (right above you), I think I know what kind of rain you're talking about - the drizzle won't be bad with umbrella Smiley laugh You might also want to embrace it with a cute pair of yellow rain boots that would really pop!

Find a nice place to do them inside.

Have a back up indoor option near you preferred outdoor location and you can try to do both.

Bring some clear umbrellas or something and it cute.

If it's just a sprinkle, that is OK as well.

Wear something so the raindrops aren't too obvious on your clothes?

What does your photographer recommend doing? Otherwise either find a place indoors or see if you can squeeze them in while it's not raining.

Bookcase on here had some great at home Epics done- and then they went outside.

It's definitely possible. I think rain pictures are nice if your photographer has the requisite help to shoot in the rain.

She thinks we should wait and see what the hourly weather looks like in between the predicted rain. Or doing them in our home. Or just embrace the rain lol!

My photographer does some great in-home sessions, I personally like the rain shots if it is just a drizzle. I like the comments of embracing the rain and adding pops like funky rain boots and cute umbrellas.

It poured down rain just a couple hours before my e-pic shoot, but miraculously, we ended up with sunshine during our pics. The weather predictions were different every single time I checked, but I trusted my photographer. I agree with PP to buy an umbrella. I bought an adorable yellow umbrella that we ended up not needing, and I was actually a little bummed bc I think it would've been cute!

I took my pro wedding pics in the rain lol.

But yea, just find a historical building, or something. Or use a cute umbrella as a prop.

This was, hands down, one of the cutest engagement sessions I've ever seen. Just have fun with it and I'm sure your photos will come out perfectly!

Be mindful of the cameras and what shouldn't get wet.

But I love those pictures of couples under an umbrella. It could work as long as your photographer can handle it.

It rained during our engagement shoot. It didn't bother much, except that it got a little muddy.
