Engagement Photos for Invites over Stds?

Stephanie, on June 4, 2019 at 9:18 AM Posted in Planning 0 9
My wedding is in April 2020 and almost all of my guests will be coming from out of state and overseas so I intended on sending out STDs in July/August via Vistaprint. I originally wanted to use my engagement photos for the STDs however the shoot is not until June 16th and the Vistaprint 50% off sale ends tomorrow. I am worried if I wait for the next 50% off it may be a bit late as far as including engagement photos on STDs.
Has anyone used their engagement photos for their official invitations? Did you like how it turned out?

Photos on invitations typically remind me more of save the dates, but I've seen some really cute invitation templates from Minted with photos recently. I definitely wouldn't pass up a sale just to include a photo.

We are also April 2020 so we haven’t done our STDs yet. We haven’t done our engagement shoot yet either haha. But we aren’t planning on using any photos for the STDs or invitations. Once we have the engagement photos, I’m just putting them up on our website.

I’m having a DW in Agust 2020 and I haven’t done my sdt’s yet... currently waiting on Zazzle sale for a specific one... we did our pics last month and we plan on using one pic for our sdt’s... if I was you I’d wait and take the pics.. this websites have sales all the time... so even if they take the 50% off tomorrow, they’ll probably have it again by the time you get yours pics...

Honestly, I think you'll be okay if you wait. Those sites have 50% off sales like every other week. So, don't let them trick you into thinking you will run out of time and must order now...there will be another sale / discount right around the corner.

For when I want to send out the STDs, it is very unlikely this site will have another 50% discount by end of July/August based on this year's sales patterns unless they have a 4th of July sale but there's no way for me to know that will for sure happen. Only want to know whether photos on the invites will look weird or not.

Yes I am thinking I may do that as well or incorporate the photos into wedding decorations for the reception. Lol I always feel like I am the one behind other April 2020 brides some girls on here already have everything booked and I'm like well I don't have catering, no dress, and am losing my mind.

We used a photo for our invite. Our save the dates were electronic and we didn't have any nice, professional photos to use. It is harder to find invite templates with a space for photos, so you may have to look a little longer.
