Engagement Photo

So we have our engagement photos scheduled for May 25th and for those of you who don't already know...it rains A LOT in Oregon. We checked a couple days ago and it looked like sunny skies so we were really excited and now when I check, it shows rain. It's too late to reschedule because that would put us in June and our photographer is booked basically every weekend we have free becuase it's now full on wedding season. My fiance is concerned that the photos will look all gloomey and mopey but we really want to do it there because that's where he proposed. Should we just go for it or should we consider other options?
Penny for your thoughts?

They're waterfalls, they're going to look beautiful no matter the weather! I think this is one of those situations that you'll just have to roll with the punches. Darker, moody photos are really trendy right now anyway. I'm sure they'll turn out grea!

That's beautiful. Maybe this is your chance to get moody photos, which are very popular. Maybe you can meet your photographer first at a coffee shop or bar and get some cute pics beforehand just in case!

Some people had a clear umbrella in their pictures and it was cute. I think they said the ordered from Amazon. You could wear rain boots and an umbrella that would be cute. I'm from Washington State so I feel ya on the rain lol. Now I live in Arizona.

Do it. We did our engagement photos on a drizzly day and it just made us glow. It's going to be beautiful no matter what the weather is like.

That's breathtaking. There's no way the photos will be dark and gloomy. Maybe wear some bright colors if the weather is overcast to bring a bright pop.

I say go with the flow, maybe bring a umbrella as a prop too? I think the rain will give a "edge" that no one else has! Also it might not rain all day!

Good luck, show us some when you get them Smiley smile

So pretty! Maybe bring clear umbrellas so you stay dry without losing the beauty of the background?

I agree with everything here. Clear umbrella and get what you can but it will be beautiful! I’m near pdx so I get the rain. If there’s a downpour I say you take pics getting dumped on and laughing! Very PNW!

Do it! Rain or clouds make for amazing photo lighting (and no squinty eyes). Bring an umbrella prop. If you use a pic for Save The Dates, you could Photoshop your wedding date on the umbrella! ☂👍
