Engagement photo question

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone had their engagement photo shoot included in your package. If so, did the company or photographer you went with tell you that you had to pay for the photos you wanted to keep? For whatever reason, I was under the impression that we can download any photos we like. Our engagement shoot was part of our package and we just got the photos today. All photos have the company’s name on them and it looks like if I want to download certain photos, I have to purchase them individually. Just wondering if this is common because my fiancé and I don’t recall being told we had to pay.

    My photographer included an engagement photo session in our wedding photography package. We got a link to download all files afterward included with the engagement photos, though if we wanted any prints, we had to pay for those separately (either through our photographer or through a different company of our choice).

    It depends on your contract. Some contracts include printing rights but others do not.

    Our contract included 15 edited images. We had to pay extra to have more edited.

    I would just check with the photographer. My shoot was included, but not the pictures

    Thats odd. My engagement session was complementary, and she sent me like 60 images with printing rights. She removed her watermark from them.

    I agree with PPs, normally when you have a complimentary engagement session you get the photos that go with it... Can you consult your contract?

    Have you gotten all of your photos back, or just the preview? Sometimes with the preview photos, they don't want you to print them (with our engagement photos, we couldn't download the preview images, with our miniwedding, we could download them, but she asked us not to print them) but then you can print the ones from the full set of photos. We're planning to order prints from our photographer anyway, but we have the option to print them anywhere.

    I do know that a lot of photographers include the engagement session free of charge. Did you not receive any photos at all without the logo? Also is it a watermark or just the name?

    Ours was included in the package. She sent us a couple preview pictures a few days after and then sent us the link with all of them. No charge to download any of them. Personally, I would find someone else. That’s probably going to end up costing a fortune since you’ll probably want to keep most if not all of the pictures

    I received all my photos with the company name. I just read that after October 9 I will be able to download them. I am going to email them and ask if the name will be removed once I download them. The company name is all across our photos.

    Oh okay. Hopefully the name will be gone or at least not across the photos. Maybe that was just a sneak peak!
