Hi all,

I am looking for some outfit ideas for our engagement photos. We've been engaged for 3 years ( I know lol long time but family tragedies have unfortunately happened every year we've tried to get married so we've postponed a lot.) Our 4 year engagement anniversary is on June 8th and I have already planned something big for my FH. I plan on giving him an engagement ring and proposing to him since he proposed to me 4 years ago. I hired a professional photographer to do our engagement photos now since we couldn't afford to do it or have the time back then. So I was wondering what the heck I should wear? I'm a heavier set gal standing at only 5'3 lol. I really like the idea of a long flowy dress and a button up shirt for my FH. We also want to include our dog in the photos! My wedding colors are blush, rose gold (to match our engagement and wedding bands) and sage green!

This was a long, flowy dress I bought on amazon for our engagement shoot. It was October in NC so when the sun was setting it was super chilly and I wore this shawl thing over it. Definitely recommend a long, flowy dress, as it moves with the wind and easy to maneuver. Whatever you do, I’m sure you’ll be beautiful and it will be a fun day!

I second a long flowy dress! you can dress it up or down depending on what you want the look to be! I wore an ivory flowy dress for our photos and I'm obsessed!

We did two looks. A casual look with me in jeans, a cami, lace overlay, and boots and him in jeans, flannel, and boots (all from our closets, so no money spent).

Our second look was more formal. Long chiffon skirt and flowy body suit for me and slacks and a button down for him.

Whatever you decide to wear, make sure you’re comfortable in it as that will translate into your pictures.

I think your idea sounds great! You could wear a maxi dress in one of your colors or white, and fiancé could wear a complimentary button down. If you want to keep the photos a surprise, you could phrase it as wanting to coordinate for your anniversary.
We did two outfits for our engagement photos, one dressier and one more casual.

Definitely make sure you’re comfortable in what you pick! It may come through in photos if you’re uncomfortable and thinking about your outfit, rather than enjoying the moment!

I’m also 5 foot 3 and it’s a little long which I love. And I’m on the bigger side and it fits perfectly!! Our colors are blush and sage green too and I think they have a sage green dress! Good luck!

We did both a formal and casual outfit and included our dog. Our wedding colors are lilac and sage with white and blush, so similar to yours. I was supposed to wear a long lilac dress but the seamstress messed it up and I was a lot more comfortable in this navy dress, so I went with it even though it didn't exactly fit our colors.
