Engagement Photo Nervousness!

Was anyone else nervous for their engagement photos?! The last “professional” pictures I had taken were in a studio with my siblings and cousins when I was maybe still in college. Beyond that, it was my senior pictures. I’m so not used to this and neither is my fiancé (who hates having his picture taken I might add but sucks it up for me for special occasions Smiley smile) Our outfits are all picked out, my hairdresser is curling my hair, and I’m comfortable doing my own makeup. I know our photographer is amazing and will make us look amazing but idk I’m just feeling so giddy/nervous about it! Tell me I’m not the only one!

    My fiancé and I were nervous because we aren’t “photogenic people”. We usually don’t take pictures unless it’s a few selfies that we can control 🤣. But once we started taking them it was pretty much natural because the photographer was posing us. You’ll be fine!

    I was nervous for my engagement photos as well - partly because I was stressed out over what to wear, and partly because I'm typically the one taking pictures as opposed to being in them. We ended up having so much fun taking the pictures, that I was no longer concerned about anything, and the pictures turned out awesome! The pictures should be a fun event for you and your fiance, as opposed to stressful. I'm sure yours will go well! Just remember to relax, and have fun!

    You are definitely not the only one! We’ve never had professional photos taken, either! It was awkward at first but we became more comfortable as we went along. Your photographer should be able to relax you and walk you through it. Your photos will be beautiful! Have fun & relax!

    Yes, I was nervous and stressed out. Felt the need to have my makeup done, get waxed, have my hair and nails done. The photographer made us very compfortable. Unfortunately, I only liked about 10 percent of the pics because I dislike my appearance.
    My FH liked nearly all of the photos.

    I’m nervous because the only professional photos I’ve been in as an adult were from family members’ weddings. We haven’t picked outfits or anything yet, but I know I’ll be getting my eyebrows and nails done. I’ll be doing my own makeup and will let my hair do it’s naturally curly thing. I’m quite nervous about my hair cooperating, but there’s nothing I can do about that lol

    Omg I was so nervous. We had a friend take them and they turned out cute, but I'm SUPER self conscious and I hate getting my picture taken. Then we decided to do a second shoot because our first one didn't match our theme and we had to go with someone else since our original girl went to college and lets just say....it was a rough day already and it definitely shows in our pictures. Smiley cry And she wasn't as professional as my mom said she was. She used her cell phone and had NO IDEA how to take pictures. Not to mention the girl had do my H&MU gave me caterpillar eyebrows and my hair looked horrendous in the Texas heat. It's been a rough month lol.

    Thank you for the advice everyone! Our shoot is tomorrow in one of the local sunflower fields and I'm getting everything ready tonight after work! I'll try to post some pics once they're done! Smiley smile

    I wasn’t nervous, I was more anxious. I was excited to have them done but just ready to get them out of the way. We were using ours for our STDs, so I felt like I couldn’t move forward with planning until we had them. The only thing I was slightly nervous about was working with our photographer for the first time. They turned out great though!

    Yeah we might have to retake them. It was 105+ degree weather and the gel in my FH hair was burning his eyes because it was literally MELTING. This lady is like my moms bff and my mom was like "she takes great pictures!" so we expected her to show up with a nice camera and some ideas for shots...nope just her cell phone, and she had no idea how to take pictures. One of the shots is a view from our feet up....Smiley angry Smiley cry Now I feel bad because shes going to get the invite and we will probably have to either retake pictures or use someone else's pictures....ughhhhh. Thank you, it's been hard. I had my 20th birthday last week and while it wasn't the worst birthday ever, it really sucked. I'm used to it though so whatever.
