Are you having an engagement party? If so can you please give me some ideas? Do you play games?

We did not. Traditionally, it is a party for the families to meet, or different friend groups. It is usually more of drinks/meet and greet, and the games are saved for the shower.

Some people have super lavish, elegant ones, some people have backyard pizza parties. It all depends on the vibe you want.

The only real hard-and-fast rule is that you only invite people who will also get an invite to the wedding.

I second everything Rebecca said. I have been to 2 engagement parties in the past for 2 separate couples. They were both casual parties at someone's home (groom's sister's house for 1 and bride's parents for the other). They were similar to any other party at someone's home. We had food and drinks and just general mingling amongst the guests. At one point the hosts said a few words about the happy couple. No games or anything like that.

We did not have one but I do think if you had games it could be like a newlywed game or a he said she said thing just so people can get to see and know you guys as a couple

We had one and it was an informal party at my parent's house. Just food, drinks, and talking.
