Engagement Party seating arrangement

We are having an engagement party as a sit down dinner at a restaurant. We are doing arranged seating with placecards at each table setting. Should me and my fiance sit with our parents at a table (my parents are hosting) or should we sit with our friends. What do you think would be best? I don't want to exclude our parents because they're the ones hosting, but we also want to be near our friends. How would you arrange the seating?

How many tables are there? If there are a lot, I would sit with your friends and have each parent host a table. If there's only a few, I would sit with your parents.
