Engagement Party - Gift for hostess?

FMIL (and FFIL) are throwing us an engagement party. She wanted to have an engagement party because she's not sure if her sister who has ALS will still be around for our wedding. It will be dinner at a restaurant with his family including aunts and she said I could invite immediate family (mom, sister, FBIL) and bridal party. Should we get them host/hostess gifts? If yes, any ideas? I have a hard enough time figuring out what to get them for Christmas and Birthdays and FH always just suggests gift cards, so that's what we end up getting half the time.

Maybe this makes me a bad kid, but I think if it's one of your parents you can skip host/hostess gifts!
Otherwise a bottle of wine, nice candle, and gifts cards are my go-to recommendations! If your FMIL is in to cutesy stuff you could get her something that says "Mother of the Groom"?
