Engagement party games

CruzWin, on August 11, 2017 at 6:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

My engagement party is on Sunday. Are there any games ideas? Or leave it casual. Eating and drinking ?

I am a big fan of no games at parties that are not for children.

Don't plan anything for your engagement party! Just let it be. Eating and drinking is enough.

We were surprised with a newly Wed game at ours. With us sitting back to back with white boards answering questions. Each round one of us won a gift from our registry. It was very thoughtful of our family to do and was SO much fun but it would look awkward for you guys to plan your own game. We also had backyard games since it was a bbq. We had bucket beer pong, horse shoe, and this frisbee game. All were so much fun!

This is one of those "know your guest". Every time I have a BBQ, and without me even suggesting it, a board game of some sort makes an appearance at the end of the nights and we drink/play until very late...1 or 2 am. We had a giant Connect Four at the last party (I got it for the kids!) and the adults decided to go head to head at the end of the night. I always appreciate an activity, but only as an option. I wouldn't force games on the entire party. Giant Jenga is a good option too!

Thank u. I'm ok with no games. Just don't want the guests to get board.

We had corn hole out and people played it while they drank! Ours was a backyard BBQ at my parents. If you think your guests may do the same, put them out! My family always plays yard games at gatherings so I knew people would join in.

We played the shoe game. It was a hit! It was funny and yet people got to get to know the bride and groom better!

We didn't have games at our engagement party and I regret it. Yes, it's so fun to mingle with friends and family but I truly think playing a game would have set our party apart from our regular family parties.

The shoe game/newlywed game would be fun.

But I'd stick to 1-2 games. Too many games could make it seem too serious, as odd as that sounds lol.

We decided to announce our bridal party and gave them each a gift during the engagement party, and that was super fun. Plus we got tons of cool pics!
