I was recently called by a man named William who told me that I had won an engagement package. It included various things including an all inclusive vacation, wedding bands, and engraved champagne glasses for our wedding. He said all my fiance and I have to do is go to an hour and a half long cooking demonstration at some hotel in Indianapolis. Is anyone else getting any calls like this? Could this actually be for real?

We got the same call from Royal Prestige. I looked it up and lots of websites say its a scam. They get your info from wedding websites. I ignored the calls and after a month they stopped, but now they have started up again.

I just started getting these calls (from Royal Prestige - Dinners for Two). If I keep ignoring them will they just keep coming?? Guess I should finally just talk to them and I can always just say I can't attend the show?? Not even sure if it will be located close enough for me to attend. I hate these kinds of deals where they pressure you to buy into big packages.

I've been to a preview with Simplicity Gourmet. I got a call and was skeptical so I checked them on the BBB. They had a A rating and are based near my hometown so I went. We did get the trip. You do have to cover your hotel taxes and all but the trip seems very legitimate. I haven't used it yet, but am looking forward to it. They do talk about their products and would like for you to buy them. People were nice, but we didn't buy anything. We still got the vacation and the $25 Bella Gourmet gift certificate and discounts off invitations and stuff.

Just got my FAKE call today. I think we all need to file a report at the BB. This is false advertising. It is conditional and NOTHING on the form says it is conditional.

We only bought 2 pans, which were never supposed to stain, Both stained within the second use. Glad we did not buy more...not worth it. And they are REALLY heavy! Did get the glasses, which seem really nice, and did get the coupon code. Have not yet actually used any of the coupons.

I am extremely disappointing with Dinner 4 Two. I got the call that I won the package, and it sounded a little sketchy, but I thought well, some free/almost free stuff is worth 90 minutes of my time, it could be fun.

Well, when the person called me, I told them that my Fiance wasn't in town because he is on an internship 5 hours away. They asked if we could come the next day and I had to repeat that he wouldn't be in until after 9 PM that day. Well, they didn't really say much else about it and kept telling me the information about it, so I thought, okay, not a problem. At the end they said something like, "so just bring your fiance and we'll see you then!" I just thought, okay they are probably making a lot of calls and forgot that I said he couldn't be there. No biggie.

Well, I drove to the event tonight, between 15-20 miles one way, and they said since the Fiance isn't here I don't get the gift package. The person running it didn't seem to understand that he couldn't make it the next night either. So, I left.

I wasted my time and gas for nothing at all. It would've been nice to still get the apron or hot pads or whatever the hell they were going to give you for free for my trouble... I have no idea why they didn't tell me that I wouldn't get the package. I'm not going to sit through your sales pitch for fun...

Got a call today from Dinner4two regarding the exact same thing. I am hesitant about going and waiting 90 minutes of my day.

I just got a call as well. I'm really on the fence about going. Anyone have any recent input? Or has anyone gone recently.

I actually bought the cookware as it is a great investment if you really think about it and I am using the cruise for our honeymoon! Its not a scam but the cookware is expensive.

I got mine from a different Company that represented MGI. I received a text stating that my Fiance & I had won a 4 day 3 Night All Inclusive Honeymoon & a Free Knife, and to claim it I would need to go to a 90 Minute Cooking Show. At first I was skeptical, cause that's a big deal and I had never heard of something like it. But I asked for more information, and they gave it to me. So we decided to at least see what it was about. Well, we were both pleasantly surprised! It was the same people we had met at the Bridal Expo and they even remembered our names! They started the presentation and actually made it entertaining, and even emphasized that we had NO obligation to buy anything. They answered our questions and other selected couples questions as well. We did end up buying some of their cookware, cause they made it interactive and we thought it was great. They gave a us a voucher for our vacation and let us know that it didn't expire and gave us the number to contact for Customer Support, etc. 2 couples decided not to buy anything, but the people were just as helpful to them as they were to us. We've started cooking with our new pans and they're just as amazing as they had showed. So I guess it's really a hit or miss with this sort of thing.
