"I'm gonna love you through it" by Martina McBride is a super emotional song about cancer and surviving. It will have you in tears...but it is a BEAUTIFUL song.

There is another country song by a male singer who sings about living each day as if it were your last, not sure of the name I'll have to look it up! It's fairly new and on the radio still, very emotional and about overcoming a sickness and not taking life for granted! God bless your father!!

Cara is talking about Tim McGraw, live like you were dying.

Why do you need to dance to a song about beating cancer? Can't you just dance to a regular song? I feel like doing this is just highlighting the fact that he had cancer. Which I don't even understand why you'd do that on your wedding day.

I agree with OG. It's wonderful that he beat it, but honestly, I think this is a moment that could unravel the wedding celebration. Just seeing you dance together will be joyous enough for the people who know the backstory.

I have to agree this would be a huge downer for me to listen to at a wedding.

But that being said, unless i know the song i rarely can follow along to the words.

I'm with OGS. I wouldn't want that be to something that is brought up. It will bring back sad memories. People know he beat it and will probably cry enough without a song about cancer

I am with everyone that says don't do it. Let your dad forget about the past and enjoy the moment wit you. There are plenty of father/daughter songs out there. You don't need to dance to the one that's about beating cancer.

If my father had cancer any song that I danced to with him would be emotional for me.
