I don’t know if my wedding dress can be fixed at all but I am posting this in the hope that someone can give me hope that it can be fixed like new. My wedding date is April 19, 2025. The dress needed a bustle added and I was going to add blue lace 3D flowers to top part only. I do not want to add the lace to the front because it would take away the look of the glitter pattern under the tulle part. The jewels are sewn into the dress so the tulle lines up under those jewels and pearls. A cat ripped through the bag the wedding dress was in and bite holes through the bag and bit into the tulle layer of the dress. The holes are in the front of the dress so if it can be repaired, it needs to be repaired and look like it is still new. The material that is damaged is white tulle. Is there hope for my dress to look new again?

Please post what you think if it can be repaired or if I need an entire new dress.

Maybe a seamstress could replace the layer. Or, you could probably add some appliques or some 3d tulle flowers (or other material) or cat decorations . These could be added in a broader pattern so it is not just where the holes are.

You cant fix the holes perfectly. You could have a seamstress fully replace that layer of lace, or you could add some appliques/gemstones over those spots plus others to make it look balanced.

    best of luck!

I hope they can replace the layer of tulle. I don’t know if it can be replaced so easily because those jewels are sewn in one at at time near the seam of where the tulle is so I am not sure if they have to take the jewels off to fix it then sew them back on. I am taking it to David’s bridal on Saturday. If they can’t fix it no one can.

Maybe they could add a new layer just below the existing seam and then add a band below the jewels to cover the new attachment point.
