Emcee?

A, on January 13, 2020 at 7:46 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4
My venue doesn’t allow for music over regular radio volume (no large speakers). It’s an afternoon wedding with only about 30 people, so I was just going to have a playlist going (I didn’t hire a DJ/band/emcee). I kind of want a few announcements though (“presenting the new mrs. & mrs. R”, “we are going to cut the cake”, etc). Would it be strange to have a member of the wedding party do this or should I just kind of let go of any emceeing?

I think having an outgoing aunt or uncle would be fine for that. Anyone who would be comfortable with a mic really.

If you have someone who is comfortable, I don't see the problem with asking them to make a few announcements.

Okay, thanks. I was worried it would be awkward for some reason? The brother of my bride does a lot of stage stuff so I think we may ask him.

A wedding party member or a close family member would be a great option.
