Embellishments on shoes stuck to dress

Jen, on September 1, 2018 at 6:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

Hello!

I was so excited to find my dream Badgley Mischka Navy heels on sale! They fit perfect and I fell in love. Then, I brought to my first fitting and my wedding dress has a layer of tulle underneath and when I was moving around it got caught in the embellishments which are on the back of the shoe.

Anyone experience this and is there a solution? I really want to wear them but also don't want to trip going down the aisle.

Any trick to stop the clinging would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe you could sew in a thin layer of silk on the bottom of the tulle where your shoes would hit it? Not so much that it would weigh down the tulle or the dress, but enough to block it from catching?

Can you have the tulle cut a little shorter than dress during alterations? Like a 1/2 inch or so?

I had an issue with this as well or rather I anticipated it due to the prongs that the embellishments are in. I just took a butter knife and pushed the prongs downs down so they so they were flush against the embellishment...if that make sense

That's an idea! It shouldn't affect the look really

These shoes have tons of prongs that really destroy tulle and lace. You can try and press them down like the other poster mentioned but there arent many other options.
