Email save the dates

Sarah, on November 3, 2019 at 5:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
Hi! My fiancé and I have pretty much settled on doing emailed STDs. I've looked at all the websites and created all the cute little save the date evites with matching envelopes and everything. I had a lot of fun, but it costs $40-$70 to email them out, and while that's not too bad, I'm trying to save money where I can.
Can't I just photoshop a cute image myself and send it out as an attachment in an email? Or maybe a little skeevier... just screenshot an image I create on one of those websites? (Don't judge me, y'all).
Honestly though, as much as I love the little animation of the envelope opening up and the card turning around, do I really need all of that?

I am also emailing my Save the Dates! I’m usijg Paperless Post - totally free and you can upload your own design but they have REALLY cute designs! Also helps you organize responses if you allow them on the Save the Dates. Animation is totally unnecessary and I don’t feel like it adds anything to it. Guests never remember the save the dates and sometimes won’t even remember the invites! I say, put that money towards something they will remember, like extra appetizers!

    It is up to you!

I think the evites that are about 70 bucks are super cool with the animation and envelope design. I ended up printing postcards for 100 bucks though so you're right, evites aren't that big of a difference in price.

I think an attachment or if you can embed it into the email that could be nice!

I thought you had to purchase coins to send the Save the Dates on Paperless Post? It's free?!

There are some designs that are free! And they automatically tack in options you have to pay for but you can delete them!

I love the idea of DIYing your digital save the dates. Save the dates aren’t even a wedding tradition, they’re relatively new, and there’s nothing you HAVE to do! I think it’s definitely a thing where you can save on the budget and put the money towards something more important (like food!) Smiley smile

It’s up to you, but we got our STDs at Walgreens. They always have awesome deals on their stationary and photos, so our 60 STDs were about $30.

I think email save the dates are fine, as long as paper invites go out.

I'm also emailing out our Save-the-Date. I'm using WithJoy as my wedding website (totally free) and they have a feature of emailing these out, making it super easy. The card also has our picture and it also matches our website
