Eloping

Jeanette, on May 7, 2020 at 2:09 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 14
Long story short.. our venue filed for bankruptcy this week and my fiance and I have been looking for a new venue to get married next year once this crazy virus is somewhat over.

FH wants to elope this year and get married on our original wedding date. And have a renew of vows a year later with everyone.

Would you wear your original wedding dress when you elope and wear it again a year later?I paid $1400.00 for my dress and want to get as much use out of it.

If it were me, I would wear it again maybe the vow renewal use different accessories. For me, I had already bought a rehearsal dinner dress, wedding dress, and a reception dress the total of all under $500. I’m either going to use the rehearsal Or reception dress for the elopement this year and then use the remaining other dresses next year.

I Personally Wouldnt Wear My Dress To Elope I Would Save It For The Big Event But I See Nothing Wrong With Getting What You Paid For Out Of It! Especially If You Decide To Have Your Pictures Done While Eloping As Well.

Go for it! It’s the first time in history women have an excuse to wear their wedding dress twice 😂

Wear it! Use it as a positive to get more chances to wear your beautiful gown Smiley smile we are going to have to make that same decision soon, and if my dress was altered to fit, I will wear it on my original date.

I was supposed to get married on 3/21 - we postponed to 6/14 thinking it may calm down by then. We have decided to have a VERY small ceremony on 6/14 anyway so we can be married and postpone the big day until next spring/summer. I'm devastated over already moving my day once, so I've decided I want to save as much "magic" as I can for the "big day". Lulu's is having a 30% off sale right now - I just purchased a gorgeous dress for $60 which I will be wearing 6/14. I will save my beautiful dress ($1300+) for our big day next year.

Yup!!! Another bride here is doing that and is excited to wear different hair, makeup & accessories to change it up with the same dress.

Agree with everyone. Wear it again and change up accessories and hair. Sorry about your venue but I’m sure your celebration next year will be wonderful!

Wear it for the elopement and the celebration next year! That is what I am doing. I spent a lot of money on my dress and love it so much so I figure this is a great way to wear it multiple times! 😊

Girl wear that dress. We could be in the same predicament next year. Not that I am wishing us into another pandemic but the talk of it is already high. Maybe a simple hairstyle for elopement with subtle jewelry and then jazz it up for the big party.
