Eloping -timeline and including children

White, on August 11, 2020 at 5:10 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4
We are eloping in Colorado next month! I am having a hard time trying to figure out the timeline and was wondering if anyone had any ideas! It will be a sunrise wedding at about 6:00 AM or so.. obviously a very early day! We will have less than 10 total guests! I don’t want to do the traditional walk down the isle since we are eloping by a lake/in the forest and it is non traditional without music and such. We also have two daughters that I am trying to figure out how to include them in the wedding at some point! I was thinking maybe for the unity part. They’re two and 6 months. Any ideas??! Thanks!!

Congratulations! We’re having a sunrise wedding next month in the mountains too! My FH and I love going on sunrise hikes snd our first date was breakfast, so it seemed perfect. One thing to keep mind, sunrise may technically be around 6:40am in September, but if you are in the mountains (depending on where you are) it can take a while for the sun to actually come up over the eastern peaks, so it will be petty dusky until well after 7:00am. I’m sure you will get incredible pictures, hopefully the children corporate with such an early morning!
I think the easiest way toInclude kids without the usual flower girl/ring bearer is usually through the unity ceremony. With them being so little, it’s harder because they can’t light a candle or pour sand, etc. A unity puzzle could be a cute idea, with one piece for each of you.

Thanks Jessica! The sunrise time was just an around about time, I couldn’t remember the exact time I found online when I started typing haha. I hope for the children’s sake it is closer to 7 but we are on Texas time now so it won’t be super bad timing! The puzzle is a cute idea! I’ll look into that!

I understand, I think I’ve looked up sunrise time for September 12th at least a dozen times since we decided on that andI still second guess it every time someone asks me. Just wanted to give you a heads up it may be fairly dusky for a while after sunrise if you’re down in a valley.
We have my FH’s “sister” coming from Texas with their three kids and they told us the kids won’t be at the ceremony because we set it for 7am, I’ll have to remind them that’s 8am Texas time!

Hi there! Which part of your timeline do you need help with?

To include your kids, what about a sand ceremony? Do you think you could help your two year old pour in some colored sand on behalf of her and her sister?? 💕
