Elopement/honeymoon

We're doing the same thing! We're spending 2 weeks in Greece, getting married on day 5 in Santorini. Going to Crete, Santorini, Mykonos, and Athens in Oct of 2023 🥰


We used a travel agency for the trip and then booked our own photographer, hair and make up, etc on our own. We're doing a symbolic elopement, will be legally married in our home country (USA).

I’m still conflicted about which days to take off. I’m considering May 2023, Sept 2023, and Oct 2023.
That’s honestly such a wise to take time enjoying the island before the wedding.
What traveling agency did you go with ? I been having a hard time finding wedding planners and agencies that I can trust.
Also, how much did the traveling agency charge ?

View Quoted Comment We went with Kensington Tours! They're very well known and had a great reputation. We also booked travel insurance! It is a very expensive vacation but we're treating it like paying for a full wedding and honeymoon 😂 They can definitely do cheaper variations but we're doing 5 star hotels, private tours, private drivers, etc etc. I can give you our agent's email if you'd like her to quote you!


2 weeks is the perk of second marriages and being "older". Our children are going to their other parents and I have a 2 week fall break from work which really helps! Chris has to take the entire time off but we gave them plenty of notice to work it out.
Right now we're playing the credit card points game to try to have enough points to upgrade to business class flights when it's time to book!

She is AMAZING. She's going to arrange for a driver to meet us at the Santorini port to take my dress and his suit to be steamed and then delivered to our hotel later, we have a driver on our wedding day to drive us and our photographer all over the island, etc. So many little details that I never thought of that she's totally all over!

Honestly there’s so many small details that entails destination weddings and travel, and having those things handled by your planner makes all the difference. I would prefer to spend all the money and have it all situated than having to worry about all these details that could make traveling or the experience more hectic or worrisome.

Hello! That is what my fiancé and I are doing, we are getting married in Greece with a symbolic ceremony and getting legally married in paper here..it’s very complicated to get married as a US citizen in Greece. We are having a ceremony just us two and the honeymooning the rest. We are using a Greek wedding planner, I would look into that if you haven’t yet!

I am new to this website and stumbled upon this forum. My fiance and I want to elope to Italy and have no idea where to begin with the planning. We can take care of booking airfare and hotels, what we need help is finding and officiant and a place that will accommodate an intimate ceremony with no guests, just the two of us. any recomendations or ideas?
