Elopement dresses

Maranda, on November 19, 2020 at 2:13 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Hi ya'll!!!

My fiance and I will be eloping in May 2021 on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. I am in search of a dress for the occasion - Nothing too crazy! Looking to spend less than $500, as we plan to trash our clothes after by jumping into the ocean. Any sites/ideas on where to look? Again, doesn't have to be anything 'traditional' or extravagant. Just looking for a pretty, white dress.

PS -- If any of you have ever visited or eloped in this location, hit me with all your tips!!! We are soooo over the moon excited.

Thanks!!!

I second this! Are you looking for an actual gown or are you open to shorter dresses?

Moonlight Bridal & Lilian West have beautiful dresses for a beach wedding. You can see which bridal stores carry those and see if they’re having a sample sale that might make those around $500?

    I think I would prefer a maxi dress/gown!

I'm from Hawai'i--Kaua'i is a beautiful island and assuming quarantine is lifted by then, you'll have a wonderful time! It rains a LOT on the island and while it doesn't get overly hot (it averages around 75 all year), I definitely recommend something light and sleeveless because it will absolutely be muggy. A dress with a ton of layers and/or sleeves will get hot and sticky so quickly. Besides, if you plan on jumping in the water after, you don't want it to be structured, heavy, or layered anyway. I've no idea what your style is but something like this or this would be easy to pack and to wear!

I've never been a bride there so I'm not sure what tips you're looking for, but if it's just about the island or HI in general, feel free to message me and I can try to help! May is a perfect time of year to be there.

If you're not opposed to a second hand gown, Stillwhite.com is an amazing website and has loads of options in all budgets Smiley smile some are sample dresses that were only tried in store, and I've seen a lot of brand new dresses that brides are selling due to venue changes because of covid also.
