We eloped on July 31 and decided to have the bigger wedding July 31, 2021

Not gonna lie it’s felt weird. I love my new husband and he’s so awesome! But man, not being able to have my wedding has really crushed me. Especially because it was supposed to be tomorrow August 22
Anyway, we got some awesome photos out of our elopement. Lucky to live in California. We started our married life and planning our new wedding next year.
Didn’t get to have a bachelorette or a bridal shower so I’m doing that too next year!
Strange times were in. Nothing is really conventional right now and there are so many exceptions to the rules! That comforts me❤️

Congratulations!! We did the same thing - the elopement was definitely underwhelming and it does suck to not have the big celebration we originally planned for. I totally get where you're coming from The pictures and location are beautiful!

Congrats! Gorgeous pics. My fiance and I are doing the same. I wish we could have family there but with COVID and travel, it's not safe. Everyone understands and appreciates our decision. But it's definitely emotional not having it be what you expect with the people you expect.
I'm still seeing next year as the "big day" where I can celebrate with my family. I'm not wearing my real dress for the elopement, so it will make next year's vow renewal special. Not changing my name until next year, and I'm still going to have my dad walk me down the aisle for the vow renewal.
