Despite having to move our ceremony inside due to rain, having to remove a groomsman from the wedding (and our lives) just a few days before (and having an angel of a friend step into his place...), the zoom not recording (grrrrr), and the venue throwing out our cake topper... over all 12.10.2022 - best. day. ever.
We don't have all our photos back but I did get some previews that I thought I'd share with you all! Dress and flowers were both done by my mother (my bouquet even lit up cause we're extra), and my vision of a black/smokey dress with all black linens and just pops of seasonal colors - or what I was calling Gothic Christmas meets Art Deco New Years Wedding looked better than I imagined. Including the street sign that was at the beginning of the aisle - it's the sign that was on the corner of the street that I grew up on my entire life, and the post as well as the lantern were custom built by my father-in-law!
This is where we were supposed to have our ceremony - but it was scheduled to rain (and did) so my amazing family banded together 2 days before and rented an arc to put inside that we decorated instead.
Thank God for first look photos.
Our respective wedding parties were amazing and everything I could have asked for.
I made eye contact with a coworker and immediately started laughing as we walked back down the aisle.
A touch of home...
My all black tables with lots of lights and candles (the wreaths lit up too...) were perfect. They really glowed during the evening. Complete with goofy names for each table (this was the kids in our lives table, they all call me Odo due to my godson not being able to pronounce my name when he was 2).
