I always had this dream of an "Elegant" Halloween themed wedding. I'm not talking about candy corn, witches and ghosts, I'm talking about tall, black candelabras, deep red roses, TONS of candle light with little hints of 'creepy' things...A little spider decoration tucked in the roses of the centerpieces, maybe a little fog creeping out from behind the bar area (my venue okay'ed a fog machine)...Things like that...We currently planned our wedding to have more of a fall theme which is more inspired by fall colors as opposed to having leaves and pumpkins in our decor. We have bought a couple of things to go along with the fall theme, but not much.

Point being, I am absolutely stuck on the Halloween themed wedding, my FI is all for it, my mother likes the idea, but is afraid I won't be able to execute my vision. What do you all think? Should I take the plunge and switch the theme? Is it too tacky?

I absolutely love it. This is what my wedding originally was supposed to be. We are doing a spin on the Nightmare Before Christmas, we love the Jack and Sally love story. We are still going with black and white stripes. But, because we are now doing it in May instead of October we are adding a touch of us and a little retro/pinup vibe! I love the candelabras. We are having them as our centerpieces as well. I can’t stress enough to people how it is still an elegant affair, I don’t want it come thru as childish or not fancy or like Halloween-y. Good luck in your planning. I’d love to hear more!

I'm getting married at Disneyland and I there is a group for brides that are getting married there. One girl is having a Haunted Mansion themed wedding, and she's got black candelabras and a purple/green/black theme going on. Her invitations were themed too. It looks really awesome and creative. There is definitely a way to pull off this style of theme in the right way. I'll try to have her send me some pics and then post them for you!

I think its a fantastic idea! I think it can definetly be done as long as you don't go over board (although I think I went over board with teal and silver..my entire spare bedroom is covered in teal wedding stuff!) I would love to see some awesome pictures after you pull this off!

I think your idea for a Halloween themed wedding is fabulous. It's the only holiday we celebrate round here. Some people might say my colors (purple, black, & orange) are Halloweenish, but they are the only colors I love!! Halloween is awesome, you can do so many wonderful & neat decorations with the theme. Have fun!!

I am getting married october 25,2014 and am also having a halloween/masquerade theme but I am having trouble finding decorations and ideas in order to keep the wedding from being cheesy and over the top.

jac-jac- i love your ideas and would love to hear more ideas from you.
