Editing rsvp and Meal Choice

Katie, on May 25, 2021 at 12:43 PM Posted in Account Support 0 8

Does anyone know if it's possible to allow guests to edit their RSVP? We have some who have accepted but didn't select their meal when they said they're coming, and now I can't figure out how to let them go back into their RSVP and either change it to decline, or add/change their meal choice. Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, you can't. We either reset our guest's response to Pending so that they could go back and RSVP again, or just asked them which meal they wanted and updated it ourselves on the back end.

Hello Katie! Once your guests send in their initial RSVP response they are not able to edit the response after it has been submitted. Your guests will have to contact you directly if they need to change their RSVP status. Please reach out at help@weddingwire.com if we can help you with any other guest issues.

I am having the same issue, and most people are missing the "choose menu" option

Please consider building this in. Your website doesn’t give the option to make selecting the menu required, then on top of that doesn’t allow guests to go back and edit their rsvp. This is very inconvenient, and possibly allows those who can no longer attend to not update the bride and groom bc the the website doesn’t allow them to do so.

Agreed completely! I emailed their help desk to complain about this - it's crazy how bad their user interface and user X is!!

Honestly, extremely regretting opting to go with WeddingWire considering this array of useful but missing options on your tool and the lack of response to make any impactful change.

    1. PROBLEM: You can't have guests add their +1 info. They have to put it in notes and then we as the couple have to go back in and edit it and whats worse is that often times, attendees only add their guest's name, not food preference. SOLUTION: Allow guests to add their guest name ALONG with their food preference when they RSVP.

    2. PROBLEM: Guests can't go back and edit their RSVP to add a meal option. When 25 of your 100+ guests do this, how difficult is it for the couple to go back to each one and either RESET their RSVP or ask them for the info and explain the meal options 25 times? SOLUTION: Let guests go back and edit their RSVP. We're also in a pandemic - life situations change..people may need to edit their RSVP.

    3. PROBLEM: Your website editor is not user friendly at all. We entered our bridal party and needed to adjust the order and to do so, had to remove everyone we put in and re do the entries. It was tedious and took more time that needed. SOLUTION: Allow users to drag and drop entries. It's 2021, this a standard for most sites.

    4. PROBLEM: You cannot transfer your domain from WeddingWire to another website. EVERY OTHER wedding website allows for this. WeddingWire, why don't you? SOLUTION: Allow couples to transfer their domains if need be OR PUT IT UP FRONT that it is not transferrable. Don't say that you can email WeddingWire and then when you do, we get a response that the feature to transfer is currently not active.

    5. PROBLEM: WeddingWire customer service simply points out the very problem you are dealing with no viable solution other than whatever they have deemed was the solution way back when. Please make an effort to at least make it seem like the couples that use your website mean something to you.

If you remove the attendee from the event, and add them back, it will reset the selections.
