Eco-friendly Plates & Cutlery

Kate, on March 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6

We are trying to do our wedding as sustainable as we can. For catering we have a food truck and cocktail hour we are putting out trays and then dessert we have donuts, cookies, and brownies (and smores!) I am looking for good disposable plates and cutlery, I really love the wooden look, we have about 60 guests. Any suggestions? I am looking for best value

I'm doing a food truck as well! They are bringing degradable cutlery and plates. They are just plain white though, but I didn't care all that much. For a wooden look, this might work?

We're planning on getting these for plates! They also have eco-friendly cutlery on that site as well.

Amazon! We're doing the same thing, and amazon has a lot of different style options and price ranges, which is really nice!

I have questions! 1) how many ppl are you expecting? 2) what is your venue situation 3) what are you doing when they are used?

We are expecting 300-350 people! my venue is 100% okay with my plan for an eco wedding, they actually encouraged it when i brought it up. after they are used, we will keep some for our new house (our favorite pieces, & you'd be surprised how nice these china sets are for so cheap too!!) & then we will donate some of the others & let our families go through them to. my nana is an antique collector so she is super excited to get to go through & pick a few pieces for herself!

i know 300-350 people is a lot of china!! but i cannot imagine the amount of waste paper/disposable plates would produce so we are okay with buying that much china. there is also the fact that we are not contributing to the supply & demand of more china being produced, which is something we are passionate about. secondhand buying is so good for the environment!!!!
