eBay shoes...from China. Yes? No?

Amber S., on December 21, 2014 at 11:15 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

I came across some shoes on eBay that can pretty much be customized to your preferences. You pick out the shoe style, and then select a heel height anywhere from flats to like 4-5" and they are custom made for you. They had a few cute styles and were very reasonably priced. However, it was a China seller, so I'm nervous about ordering because I've heard horror stories about ordering things from China. I've also known people who had good experiences. I don't know anyone who has gotten SHOES, specifically, from China though. Have any of you ladies? My big questions (aside from the obvious, were there any problems), is was the sizing accurate, were they comfortable, and did they look too cheap/poorly made? Should I risk it or keep looking? I haven't found any shoes that I'm really loving so far. I have to have flats due to my RA and prior spinal fusion. Every cute shoe I have seen has a 3" or higher heel and that just isn't going to work. Smiley sad What would you do?

You need to ask yourself whether you have that money to throw away if the shoes aren't what you want. And if you'll have the time to keep looking. If so go for it.

I ordered my shoes from Christy Ng... They were exactly like picture and they are sooo comfy. She answered every question I asked... My shoes arrived two weeks after ordering.

ETA: she's a seller on esty tho.

If you're buying if off of eBay there's the eBay protection plan with PayPal. When (if) you receive the item, if it's poor quality or not as described, you can file a claim. I'd suggest calling them first. They'll have you email the seller and they'll watch the email interactions. If the seller doesn't respond in a certain amount of time or doesn't give a satisfactory answer, you'll get your money back. I've already been through this. Twice. Which is why I stay away from eBay completely. They even had over 100 excellent reviews.

Stay away from the Ebay China customization, find someone US based.

Just remember they could turn out completely different.. Are they cheap enough to be worth the gamble? If they were like $20 and you love them I'd say worth a try.

I am very particular about getting comfortable shoes. I doubt that these would be comfortable. They might be okay quality but wouldn't risk it.

I've heard more cons than pros when it comes to ordering from China. If its in your budget to purchase replacements if it doesn't work out, I say go for it.

Mine came from China...but I went through and Etsy store. I LOVE them! The seller was super easy to work with, ordered the custom color for me and they look and fit great (just a bit stiff and I'm working on that!)

I have never ordered shoes.. but I have ordered quite a few wedding things from China sellers on Ebay. I have never had a problem. Just make sure you read the whole description. Also, look at the reviews. It will tell you a percentage of good/bad reviews & how many reviews there are. I wouldn't order from someone with little reviews. Or bad ones.
