Easy Jet Airline

Jennifer, on December 3, 2019 at 8:47 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 5

Hi everyone!

FH and I are looking to honeymoon in Como, Italy in October 2020.

So far, looking at flights to Milan, the most cost-effective options include Easy Jet as the airline for the short flight after layovers in London or Lisbon.

Has anyone flown with Easy Jet? Thoughts on how reliable they are as far as running on time/not cancelling flights?

I am nervous because I have seen some reviews from a few years ago mentioning that they cancel flights at the last minute and people have not found out about it until getting to the airport. I haven't really seen more recent reviews.

Any input would be much appreciated! I would rather spend a few hundred dollars more for a better airline if it will be a terrible experience with Easy Jet.

I flew both easy jet and Ryan air to various locations in Europe. Had great experience with both. Be mindful of additional costs - I remember with Ryan air the ticket was 20 euro but we have to pay another 25 for any sort of luggage...
I wouldn't worry too much until you have to, but also would maybe look into travel insurance plans or possible alternative routes... Rail system is very well developed in Europe and there is no shortage of low cost airlines either...Smiley smile

Biggest issue I've had is making sure to stay within the weight and size restrictions for bags plus the fact that carry-ons, personal items, and checked bags are all charges a fee. Agree with PP that you might want to check out trains (unless you pack super light!).

I've traveled with Easy Jet. It's ok. I would not want to rely on them too much, also because of the already mentioned additional costs. They are ok with running on time. Also keep in mind that in Europe, if a flight is more than 4 hr delayed (at you destination!) and/or cancelled without it being an act of god, you are legally entitled to get 250€ in compensation. You have to actively claim that though. This at least gives you some extra money in case something does go wrong.

Hey Jennifer!! An Italian honeymoon sounds just beautiful! Have you ever been before? It’s such a beautiful country!

I’ve flown EasyJet before and encountered no issues. I always like to remind myself when I read reviews like this is that people don’t often come back to review all of the good experiences they have with a company. If, as you say, there haven’t been many recent reviews then I wouldn’t count this as something bad.

I always recommend travel insurance when traveling a long distance though, just in case!!
