My fiancé is set on a date in next April meaning all of my bridal party will still be in college, so I want to have our wedding when they have a few days off following the wedding weekend. We don't want to do a Friday wedding because guests have work and the venue is a semi destination wedding 6 hours away from us and most of our guests. This leaves us with the Saturday right before Easter Sunday. Any thoughts or opinions on this?

Are there people on your guest list who are Catholic, Anglican, Methodist, Lutheran... any of those groups? If so, avoid that date.

I would not attend and would find it odd. Even if you are not religious, for anyone who is Christian that's a pretty major religious holiday, the most important holy day of the year for some. And I would never, in a million years, attend a rehearsal dinner on Good Friday. Again, for Christians, that is probably the most solemn (and slightly depressing) religious day of the year. What if people are fasting/not eating meat/want to attend services? But again, I am religious so these things matter to me, they may not matter to your guests.

We do them every year, and attendance isn't really a factor. I think it's a crowd by crowd thing...

Maybe you already answered this Andle, but are you planning on having a church ceremony? If so, I doubt you'd find a priest willing to marry you during Lent. I'm Greek Orthodox and March 14 - April 30 are completely off limits. Especially Holy Saturday (for either calendar).

I think you really have to look at your own friends and family. Clearly most people here on WW wouldn't care, but LauraS would-- so, where do your friends fall?
