Easels for signs?

Courtney, on January 17, 2018 at 5:27 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 21

Hey everyone!

I'm struggling to find sturdy but cheap easels for our welcome signs and seating chart. Our wedding is a garden/romantic/rustic wedding.

Where did you buy or have you seen easels?

Thanks in advance!!

My mom bought small easles that are nice and sturdy at Christmas tree shop. You might also want to look around stores like Burlington, TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, Home Goods that have large clearance sections. I know I’ve seen them in Burlington but their stock always changes.

Try amazon and craft stores - Joann's, Michael's, Hobby Lobby - they usually have them in the actual visual art section with paint and canvases.

ive seen them at Burlington and Marshall's and HomeGoods too but since their stock changes so often and its always random how much of some stuff they get, i would look into craft stores first. i dont know how many you need but the craft places will probably have the best selection

I saw some at hobby lobby for a reasonable price. Facebook also has forums for people selling old wedding items they'll never need again. There's 5 just for the Atlanta area.

Have you checked with your venue to see if they can supply them?

If you have anyone that is handy, easels are a breeze to build out of wood.

I got mine from hobby lobby and then painted it. It was only about $14 I think.

Definitely check with your venue first. (That's what I plan to do when we meet next week.) Otherwise, Amazon is my next bet!

This is the type of decor that is sold after the wedding. Check www.searchtempest.com and local Buy and Sell and Bride to Bride Facebook groups.

I don't know where you're located, but we bought our's from At Home - we bought the white ones ( Swirltop Art Easel 18x55-in) and spray painted them - 19.99 each + paint.

We bought a small easel from Hobby Lobby for about $7 to hold our 11x17 cookie table sign. Hobby Lobby had a TON of different ones, we bought a dark wooden one but they had gold, white, etc.

And I ordered this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00114OS84/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 from Amazon to hold our 18x24 welcome sign.

The bigger easel I stained a darker colored brown, and some assembly was required but it was easy and for the price I really like it!

Thankyou so much! Do you think it's seems sturdy enough to be outside?

Thanks everyone!! We're hosting a backyard wedding (yes don't worry we know the work involved) but I will definitely check out all the stores mentioned above. Thank you!

I think so, it's definitely a little thin. But if you want to go the extra mile you can put some extra wood on it to hold it up better. If the wind is blowing super super hard, it may fall over, but its pretty sturdy for just standing there!
