Early Spring Ceremony?

Ok I seem to be getting a lot of mixed messages from the internet and from our family’s on this one. FH and I have a very important friend, who is a BM, and it’s very important to us to have her there on our wedding day. Unfortunately, she lives out of state and can really only make it in state mid March. The problem is that we live in Colorado and the high mid March is on average ~ 50 degrees, and we’re having a very hard time finding an indoor ceremony space within budget. We’re planning on having heaters and blankets for guests just in case, and despite reassurance, we’re still really worried about making our guests uncomfortable. Should we switch venues altogether to a venue with a better inclement weather plan (that’s slightly out of budget), or just hope for the best?

Personally, I would switch venues. I like cooler weather, but think that may be a bit too much for guests. Standing/sitting in cool weather is different than moving around.

Hoping for the best when it comes to weather is never a good idea. I would try to find a venue with a better indoor option. Even with heaters, it may be really cold after awhile, especially since there are never enough heaters in those types of settings to keep everyone warm. I always seem to end up in a spot with no heater or very little heat hitting me, and I'm freezing.

Will your reception be indoors? I think people can handle being outside in 50 degrees for a 20 minute ceremony as long as the reception is warm and indoors.

I would not plan your wedding around 1 guest. If you are sacrificing when you’re having your wedding, why can’t she make a sacrifice and come later in the year? Planes fly state to state year-round.
If you really want to keep it in March, I’d fine an indoor venue.
