Early Save the Dates?

Adree-Anna, on August 15, 2019 at 11:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
So in the interest of saving money, I'm considering having my wedding on a weekday. Would it be a good idea to send the Save The Dates earlier than normal to give the guests time to arrange time off and travel plans?

I would send Save the Dates out six months in advance. Even if you sent them now, most people aren't able to request days off a year in advance. You should be good Smiley smile

6-8 months is recommended and would still be plenty enough notice to plan for a weekday wedding.

Hey Ardee-Anna! Welcome to the WeddingWire community!

I love that you are being really considerate about your guests but I agree with the pps. Typically, STDs are sent out about 6-8 months in advance of a wedding so I definitely think that it ample time for your guests to make plans to attend.

It is unlikely that people will be able to request days off from work in the new year already so everything should be fine!

I personally would send them on the earlier side of the recommended spectrum. I can request leave pretty much whenever, but I also have a friend who literally has to give his leave plans for the year within the first month or so of the new year. Those are both kind of anomalies, but more advanced notice could certainly help some people.
